R.I.P. Joe Zawinul

As I'm sure many of you have heard, legendary jazz-fusion innovator and master keyboardisst Joe Zawinul of Weather Report died today. He worked with some of the greats including Miles during the Bitches Brew sessions. If you have no idea who or what I am talking about, I'm sorry, you missed out. But, watch this video to understand his greatness. (Do not be distracted by Jacos amazing playing, I know it is hard.)

Ok ok, I know I have not posted in a while (I'm not sure if the Junior Senior post counts since it took about 2 seconds) but anyway, I wanted to give some props to The Glorious Hum for including me in her "blog roll". She has been in mine, but it does not mean as much because no one reads this. But Hey! maybe people will now.
Hopefully my roommates and I will be ordering some more reliable internet in the next week, since school starts on monday, so I should be able to post more consistently and download ample amounts of illegal and upcoming music for all of you. Keep listening!

New Josh Rouse Album, and some ill organ playin'

On Tuesday Josh Rouse released his latest album Country Mouse, City House. If you are familiar with and have liked any of his previous releases then you will surely enjoy this record. He doesn't push the envelope or chart new territories in his writing/performing, and I couldn't care less. This album is just as good as 1972 and that is cool with me.

Do you like phat blue break beats? Do you not have any idea what I am talking about? Who cares! Check out this song by Richard "Groove" Holmes for some funky organ and a swinging beat. Jazz organ is under appreciated.
