This American Life

Since some of my readers are lazy hypocrites, I am posting this article for easy access. If you are not familiar with This American Life on NPR then read the article and you will have a pretty good idea of what it was about.

Another hilarious Onion article

As an avid reader of the “music keeps me sane” blog I must confess that I am deeply perplexed. I was under the impression that the content of the site would be about music, as implied by the name, however throughout this month several articles containing no real mention of music (specifically: July 2nd “Homie-phobia”, July 5th “Do not piss in the piscine”, “The Onion Is Too Cool For Me”, July 7th article relating to protests on the 4th of July in San Francisco, July 9th “This American Life”) have been posted. As I gaze back to the casual mission statement made on your first post (April 12th 2007) you yourself specifically say that the “music keeps me sane” blog is a music blog. I am further confused by the explanation of the page that appears directly under the title, reading “Music Keeps Me Sane: An MP3 Blog”. As a reader who cares deeply for the art and spirit of music I am concerned by this shift in subject matter.

I can somewhat see why one may be "perplexed" as to some of the non-music postings on this blog, but I reply simply, most of the posts have music in them, and then the other ones are just random things I find on the internet that I think are cool/funny/worth reading. If that's not good enough, then you can stay the hell away from my blog!!!! jk, keep reading, im so alone......

If you are feeling “so alone” I know that the best cure is to allow the soft sounds of music to gently embrace you in a loving squeeze as you feel the life force of the planet pulsing through you, because when listening to music, who can deny the transcendence and the feeling one shares with humanity. I suggest chilling out with the soothing sounds of Jack Johnson, Phish live, or Dave Matthews while kicking back and watching some family guy.
